SPSC GmbH is an engineering and plant construction company with a focus on reactor construction for CVD and thermolysis processes (CVD stands for Chemical Vapor Deposition) and has been operating successfully worldwide for more than 10 years. The SPSC retorts of the VARIO XL series have been developed to refine biomass into biochar in industrial quantities with the highest degree of automation and to fully utilize the energy generated during the process in an environmentally friendly manner.
In addition, SPSC GmbH has special know-how in the field of planning, dimensioning, configuration and commissioning of such systems and is willing to provide the planning services in the form of engineering as the first service level. Thanks to the modular design, the production capacity can be increased quickly and cost-effectively at any time.
A fully automatic, continuous process runs in the VARIO XL retort. The biomass is heated in the absence of oxygen until the actual thermolysis (dry distillation) begins. The biomass is broken down into its components – carbon and synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is fed into the special combustion chamber and treated in an environmentally friendly manner, in accordance with the applicable regulations (FLOX process - flameless oxidation). The resulting thermal energy is partly fed back into the thermolysis process and the rest of the energy can be used as desired (e.g. for heating or drying purposes, steam or electrical energy generation).
Thanks to the thermolysis process, the SPSC systems enable the highest biochar quality to be achieved in accordance with the EBC guidelines.
