Chickens in the forest, African millet in the fields and high-quality biochar in the soil - not a pipe dream, but everyday life for farmer Thomas Domin. In the very south of Brandenburg, in Peickwitz near Senftenberg, he is trying out various methods of agroforestry.
This is an ancient cultivation method. It focuses on sustainability and is not exactly cheap.
For Thomas Domin, however, it is the only way to counteract the sprawling, over-fertilized, huge corn areas with a healthy alternative.
